Workshops

The 2005 edition of Decision-Making in Weather-Impacted Disasters was held October 13-21, 2005.

Agenda

The agenda featured speakers from the Oklahoma Climate Survey, the National Weather Service, the Storm Prediction Center, OU's College of Geosciences, the Warning Decision Training Branch, the Department of Geography, the Cooperative Institute for Mesocale Meterological Studies, the National Severe Storms Laboratory, the City of Moore, Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management, Weathernews Americas, and KWTV. The keynote speaker was Ambassador Edward Perkins, Executive Director of OU's International Program Center.

The 2005 workshop received considerable support from the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). TDA helped to recruit many participants from southeast Asia (in response to the devastating tsunami of 2004) and provided logistical support.
